I have completed reading 40 chapters of probably one of my favorite books, The Little History Of The World.
Little History has helped establish my thoughts on human beings existence, introduced me to philosophy, sparked a interest in history and so much more. It takes you on a adventurous journey but besides the thrill of the empire of Egypt to the atomic bomb. It is especially unique in the way it was written. In attempt to write a history of the world for younger readers E.H.Gombrich the author of The Little History Of The World did not dominate his text by dates or facts but rather the sweep of mankind’s experience and journey over the centuries and personally I think this is what makes the book so great. Through reading I was emerged in writing and imagination as I pictured wars and conquests, works of art ,science and religion. Traveling to cities and cultures being formed by each flip of a page and journey of a chapter you tend to forget that it’s not a storybook your reading and that these events really occurred.
The Little History Of The World reinforces a love for reading and knowledge and is a book I really enjoyed reading.
